So I have this kit that's been sitting in my basement for almost a decade now. They say that when you're trying to get rid of stuff, you should ask yourself the question, "Does this bring me joy?" And despite me never opening it once, the answer has always been a hearty "YES!" (So much for that trick.) But while I've never opened it, I've always loved what the tube itself represents, and I'd like to bestow this gift upon one of you who will hopefully break it open once and for all :)

Here's what's in it:

A "Penny Portrait" kit, from the folks at PennyPortrait.com, which contains:

  • 18 x 24 Penny Portrait poster
  • Genuine 1943 Steel Penny
  • Assembly tips & tricks handout
  • Booklet with facts and info about:
    • Abraham Lincoln
    • Lincoln pennies & coin collecting
    • Chemistry experiments with pennies
    • Impressionist art & optical illusions
    • and more!

They also say the following on their website:

Suitable for framing as is, but with a little effort, some glue, and 846 of your own pennies, you can have a unique work of art that truly shines... Just match your pennies to one of the four shades on the poster and glue them on. (We guarantee your masterpiece will be worth at least $8.46...)

Haha... Our kind of people :)

Here's my favorite fact, learned from my good friend, Nate St. Pierre: Abraham Lincoln filed a patent for Facebook in 1845. (True story!) GIVEAWAY OVER: Congrats to Miss Mazuma for winning! After sharing a video on how eerie the similarities are between him and John F. Kennedy! ***** PS: Curious to see who won last week’s giveaway? Click here.
